As I move upstairs to have a cup of tea on my terrace,
Something that overwhelms me the most is ‘nature’.
Every time my lip touches the cup’s rim,
It connects me to the Nature:
The tea leaves, the tea gardens,
The men and the women working there
And the joy that comes through dances.
Having a sip of it, as I look around,
My eyes are left with:
Less of nature, more of construction.
Less of trees, more of houses.
Years ago, there used to be forests.
Now we have a smaller version:
Grow it in a bowl of water,
Place it in the centre-table
And call it as the-
Love for Nature.
How varied it looks,
Yet pure in its root.
How blissfully it flows,
Yet calamitous it grows.
Nature leaves us speechless,
In whatever form it expresses.
Imagine the monsoon’s first shower
No happiness can substitute for it.
The cuckoo’s summer welcome,
Nothing can be complimentary for it.
The sun as it sets,
Is not less than a painter’s masterpiece.
And the cloud before it rains,
Depict the faces and the sceneries.
Nature is beautiful:
The flowing rivers,
The majestic mountains,
The mighty sky,
The dense forests,
The heavy rainfall,
The heavenly snowfall,
The colourful rainbow,
The fragrant flowers
And the land below us!
You must have felt the morning breeze over you face,
As it caresses your hair?
Nothing revitalises you more than the breeze on your skin.
Every time you breathe, there’s hope beneath.
The sun interrupts your night’s dream
But strengthens you to go for it!
Have you ever hiked a hill?
Nothing leaves your more fulfilling, than the feeling at its tip.
Every time you slip, there’s God on your lips,
Even then you dare because Nature makes you passionate.
Have you ever rafted a river?
Nothing’s more adventurous than the ups and the downs.
Every time it hits hard your belly, you still don’t give up,
For it makes you firm throughout the sally.
Have you ever been to a forest at night?
That’s when nature is thrilling!
Have you ever danced in the rain?
That’s when nature is romantic!
Have you ever sat beside a river, wrote a poem or drew a scenery?
That’s when nature is creative!
Have you ever walked a beach and let the waves touch your feet?
That’s when nature is therapeutic!
Nature is a pain-killer:
An epitome of peace and delight.
Nature is self-fulfilling:
A blend of all the feelings.
So much we know,
Still more to learn.
So less we contribute
Yet abundantly it showers!
Nature is an endowment from the Almighty.
Times immemorial it has flourished and withered with us,
In response Nature demands nothing:
Some love, some words of appreciation
And few moments of thankfulness
For being there for us.
